I'm afraid Dungy's "unique defense" will not overcome the loss of their prized bull. Mathis will be proven for the under-average pass-rusher that he is without team's doubling up on Freeney and Bob "the midget w/ freakish pipes" Sanders is going to have to put on a show, which will ultimately cause him to speed up his annual injury which would totally decimate their defense. I'm just glad we got to play them before this injury as the NFL would have considered it a scrimmage because it wouldn't be fair for the Colts.

I will go on record as others have and say that I am sorry to see the guy injured, and hope it is not as bad as feared. It's true that noone felt sorry for us in 2005, when we lost Rodney and Dan Koppen for most of the year (damn Heinz Field games), not to mention Tedy before the season started, and Seymour for chunks as well--but I prefer all the teams to be at full strength.

IndyStar.com reporting that Freeney is likely done for the year.

I can't believe he's the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.

No Booger,No Freeney,No June = No playoff miracles on defense and no SB
- 1 Contender fading away - Now we need to beat Pittsburgh to finish the deal.

If it is Lis Franc, then I think you heard it from me first:

See post #15 on this thread: Freeney?

Yes, you're right--Light was hurt in the Pitt game, Koppen was lost later in the year, against Miami (I think). So it was even worse than I recall.
