That's great! I hadn't even heard that they negotiated and settled on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement!

Either that or there's no agreement and this is the owners posturing giving themselves yet another chip to cash in and potentially "give up" in negotiations with the players... but I suppose I'm just cynical like that

Well, since the players, fans, and media all pretty much hate the idea, why not force it through?

There had better be a *****load of changes to roster and injury rules.

Now I would never wish it on anyone, especially a player I respect as much as Manning, but through sheer irony this just screams as a set up for a huge injury to Manning in a meaningless game.

+1. Once 2-and-18 has been implemented and around for a while, fans will look at the days of 4-and-16 the way we look at the days of 6-and-14: A what-were-they-thinking anachronism.
