Default No Faulk = Less Shotgun?

Faulks ability to block against the blitz made Toms job to get the ball away from the shotgun formation a little bit easier and made the call for Tom in the shotgun to be a little more comfortable.

Without Faulk to block,is the shotgun going to be used less starting this week? - Will we see Tom more under center now during these situations?

A lot of times our 5 "WR" sets would include Faulk, which gave us the flexibility to move him back behind the line if the defense called for it. Usually the five wide were actually 3 WR, a TE split wide, and Faulk either motioning out or back in.

We may see LESS five wide without Faulk.

Hopefully. I feel like to start the game the last two years the team has used inventive formations and plays. Then later on when they seemingly run out of scripted plays they would go to Brady in the shot gun. If they aren't comfortable enough to slip into the gun consistently without Faulk maybe it makes the offense more difficult to defend.

How come people can't figure out when to use "less" and when to use "fewer"? No Faulk=less shotgun?

It's sasposta be, No Faulk? Fewer shotguns.

Fewer shotguns pointed at Pats fans' heads by their own hands. lol.

Take the double barrels out of our collective mouth and slowly put the gun down, please. We'll be okay. You jus' havta be grateful for all we DO have on tha team. Plus, we can pick somebody up maybe. I know it won't be as good as it has been for the last 11 or 12 years when Kevin was around, but we'll muddle thru.

Now, let's not pull a Kurt Cobain over the whole sha-bang, k?

(Just kidding. I saw the thread title and I jus hadta take some creative license.)

We can only hope.

BTW, Morris could be the running back in the shotgun.

This is just wrong.

Less shotgun is proper usage. "We'll use the shotgun less."

You can say "We'll call fewer shotgun plays" too, and that's proper as well.
