Default Fellow Pats fans: chill out

Why can't we all be more level headed? After week 1, some of you people wanted to prematurely crown the Pats as Superbowl winners. Now after this loss to the Jets, some of the same people are acting as though the world is ending.

Chill out. It's one game. They got beat on the road in a tough environment. I'm not making excuses for our favorite team here. They played a poor second half of football. But let's not over react and start acting like they suck and the world is over. They will learn from it and be a better team from it.

It's so disappointing to see how fickle some of our fellow Patriots fans are...

Seriously, The Pats should cruise to an easy 2-1 unless something goes HORRIBLY wrong next week. Then it is time for the next huge test of the season away at Miami. If the Pats can win there and go into their bye 3-1 then they will be in great shape. The next game will be a difficult road game at the Chargers and going 4-1 there, knocking off perhaps our two toughest road games, will put us in a great position.

ill write this year cuz i dont feel like starting a different thread for it:

the jets came to play today, and we did not, the jets treated this like what it was, or like more than it was...

they treated it as a heated division rivalry game, they treated it as a playoff game, they treated it as a superbowl

we came in thinking of it only as another game....for us it was simply week 2 of the nfl season, win or lose there are another 14 games to go

the same approach is taken by many ppl on this board, and its taken by belicheck too.....

unfortunately when a team plays like the latter when facing a team that plays like the former chances are it will get its ass handed to it, and thats what happened

they were fired up, we were mellow, and in football that is all the difference that was needed.....

we dont suck as a team, we just didnt want this W as bad as the jets wanted this W, and that goes back to the head coaching styles....Rex will passionate his players for a specific game...BB will not, its not his philosophy

were better than we played today, but well be MUCH better once the players start acting like playing football is not just a job

This team no longer has the mentality to win big road games. That was proven last year time and time again. Today was a continuation of that. They can play well for a time, then when the rubber meets the road -- in the second half -- they piss down their legs.

Heh, blind homerism in your mind = anything other than utter contempt for the team. I'm convinced you're simply one of our resident contrarians who is too afraid to post under the regular username while you revel in the Pats loss.

On ignore.

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

Do you even know me? Don't call me a homer again. I didn't say they played well. I even pointed out that they played very poorly. Sorry that I'm not freaking out and acting as though the world is over. If that makes me a homer, then yeah....OK?

Idiot. Just go away. Imagine if BB or Brady freaked out like little school girls at the first sign of adversity like some of our fellow "fans" here do...

And it's also quite annoying how people toss around the term "homer" WAY too easily. Just cause someone doesn't piss all over their favorite team and act like their life is over after ONE game means they are a homer? Man, the lack of logic with some people is amazing.

Last year has nothing to do with this year. It really doesnt.
If there are specific chokers on the team that are still here, then it might, If there were philosophical issues, it might.
I dont see either.
It was one game. While fans want every game to tell the future, they simply do not.
The Patriots will improve, every team will improve throughout the season.
The general consensus of this board was that the Pats and Jets would fight to the end for the division. If that is accurate, why are people dangling from the ledge over losing a road game to a team they consider a tough competitor in the division? In September? We lost division games in September, worse than this, in 2001 and 2003. There is no more meaning in this loss that 1 in the L column.
If it makes you feel better to bemoan the doom that will follow, knock yourself out. If it makes you feel better to find the silver lining, go right ahead. At this point neither is any more correct than the other.

It takes a mind greater than yours to see how stupid that comment is. (Thankfully, we all have one.)

Hey, weren't you the guy who said we would control the miserable Jets O with ease, something about "I've been saying it for a month"....how'd that work out chief?
