Default Pittsburgh Running Up the Score? Up 35-7 at Half.

I bet you the announcers won't say a single thing about the Steelers running up the score on the Ravens. But when the Pats do it, it suddenly becomes a morally unconscionable act!!

And listen to Kornheiser laying on the baloney about how Pittsburgh plays the game the way it is supposed to be played and how people LIKE the Steelers. How Steelers fans are portable unlike teams in NY and... Boston! Wow, biased much?? That is BS, I've seen plenty of overbearing and obnoxious Steelers fans. Where this guy gets the idea that the Steelers are LIKABLE, I have no idea. Maybe they are liked by the fans because they are playing the game in Pittsburgh?? Duh!

you're right the announcers won't say anything about them running up the score
The announcers never said anything like that for any of the Pats blowout games.

Basically what im saying is, its not the announcers who say this stuff, its the media guys on every sports show because its a hot topic.

But this game is the PERFECT example of the DOUBLE STANDARD the media applies to the Patriots. If the Patriots score too little - then their wins are lucky. If the Patriots score too much - then they are running up the score and are "evil". But when another team scores gobs of points like the Rams, or the Colts, or today the Steelers - they are "playing the game the way it is supposed to be played." What kind of BS crap is that? Does anybody see what I'm getting at here?

It's actually almost a perfect analogy to the Mia-NE game... they were winning by 28, inside 2:00 of first half, driving deep, and throwing the ball into the end zone to take a 35 point lead.

The only difference is where the Pats brought that 35 point lead into the locker room, here tonight the Ravens managed a drive of their own to cut it to 28 at the break.

if pittburgh goes for it on 4th down with 4 minutes left, I'd agree with you.

I actually don't have any problem with anything a team does in the 1st half. It is when you hit the 4th quarter and are throwing long to your #1 that I have a problem with.

Not to mention that Big Ben just threw another 40 yard bomb with the Steelers already up 35-7. Only difference is that he seemed to get dinged up after throwing that pass. How is what the Steelers doing ANY different from what the Pats did to the Dolphins? The Steelers are still doing their darn best to score more points, and that includes throwing the ball deep.

And what do you know the Steelers bring Roethlisberger back into the game in the 4th quarter after Batch pretty much stumbled over his own toes. Wow eerily similar to Pats vs Dolphins where Brady went back in. I'm sure that the ESPN and other tv mediots will say nothing about this either!
