If it is a CBS issue, which is most likely, CBS should be able to resolve it immediately and kill the speculation.

Wicked Pissah that now another team is the target of unbridled media amplified, Internet stoked speculation, eh?

Default Jeremy Green: Dennis Green Pumped in Fake Noise at Metrodome [mergedx2]

From the PFT Rumor Mill page, Green's son, Jeremy, admitted during a chat on ESPN that Dennis Green had artifical crowd noise played during Vikings games when the opponent had the ball. Now, other than making Dennis Green look kinda bad, it shows that this might be something done on the order of the coaching staff, and not Polian.

Why would I say that? As PFT points out, Dungy, Tom Moore, and controversial "go for the knees" d-line coach John Teerlnick all coached under Green in the 90's when this was apparently going on.

I think it is an interetsing admission by Jeremy Green, and I wonder if he will address it further on his daily podcast. He can be pretty annoying, but he does watch a lot of tape and has good guests every week.

Default Jeremy Green on Crowdgate

From his chat on ESPN:

Quote:
PaulieP (Scottsdale): Colts first time here, do you believe the allegations about pumping in crowd noise? Have you heard the "skip"?

Jeremy Green: (11:10 AM ET ) I don't doubt it. The Vikings used to do it in the 90's when they had very good foootball teams.

Wow! Considering his dad was the head coach of the Vikes in the 90s, I guess he just threw his father under the bus. At least, he does add more weight to the fact that people at least did it in the past.

I don't think there's any question but that people did it. As others have noted that on other feeds you don't hear it, it sounds like it probably is something with CBS. It's interesting that CBS hasn't weighed in on it.

Or that the Colts haven't said anything.

Again, where are these other feeds that people are talking about?

Umm, have you ever been to a concert where the soundmix wasn't quite right? I have been to concerts where the PA system dissipated so much that all I heard was the actual amp speaker. Depending on where you were standing, all you could hear was the base, and some vocal. Move 20 feet, and suddenly there's very little bass, all guitar and all vocal. Go backwards 20 feet, and the PA reverberation kicks in, and you notice that the drummer was way freakin' louder than anything else being piped into the mix.

It all depends on where the recording device is located, and how it's angled. If the radio source is away from the PA speakers, it's not going to pick up what's coming out of them. If the CBS mike is near the stadium PA, it may indeed pick up the skipping.
