Default Official "Maroney & Faulk Lost in the Shuffle" Thread...

With all this talk of score-running-up and late-TD-throwing and Randy-behaving-despite-Brady-calling-his-own-number, I haven't noticed many posts about how excellent the run-game looked.

Maroney looked terrific, ran hard, took a lot of hits, hit the hole, and excelled in his couple of receiving opportunities. Maroney in space is dangerous. A GREAT job, very dynamic.

Faulk made a lot of plays as usual, continues to show improvement in terms of ball security, ran the ball well, caught some big plays, first downs, protection was good.

Can't say enough about these two - and, actually, we haven't said anything. (I think.) Bodes well as the season moves forward.

I heart this thread. I think Maroney is the X factor in the game on sunday.

Yeah-and without Maroney(and Morris), you guys still destroyed us at TX Stadium.

You talk about being dangerous(either way).

I'm unhappy Brady rushed for his first TD with Moss open in the back of the end zone. I lost some fantasy points on that play.

Otherwise i love the critics. We are so good, everyone is so jealous, that they hate us.

And yes i hope our running game remains under recognised. It's a big plus to not have the opposition focusing on our running game and devising a specific defense for it.

Major ups to DisTunFan for hanging around and continuing to post. Cowboys remain the toast of the NFC, no matter what Favre did tonight against Denver.

Honestly-after spending 90% of my time on the CMB/SMB, I get bored so I go to random other boards from time to time(not only this, but the Giants and Skins MB as well).

BTW-beware of the Giants-not only do they have a 2-headed monster running tandum in Jacobs/Ward(and Plaxico is quietly having a great year), but Steve Spagnuola(who worked under Jim Johnson in Philly) has really given that D a much needed shot in the arm(Heck-even some guy by the name of Justin Tuck is getting sacks for them).

I have thought for some time that BB is sparing Maroney for the second half of the season and of course the playoffs. The fact that the passing game is so complete is a bonus because it keeps the opposition from available film of Maroney and time to work out how to stop him.

Faulk is having a great season and is always overlooked by the media, especially as they wax lyrical about Welker (and why not?). It would be interesting to see how many first downs Kevin has got so far, he already has a highly respectable 346 yards rushing/receiving. Despite absences from Maroney and Morris he keeps the running squad purring along nicely.

Cant wait to see the running game in December and post season, it looks very promising.

Good to have you visiting frequently D-Tuna, you always provide a welcome objective view, though I am not convinced by the Giants. I like what Spagnuolo has done, but l still think the Giants offense is not consistent enough yet, and their stats are heavily padded by the awful game the Eagles gave them (to which Spag was a heavy contributor in exposing his ex-teams deficiencies). Eli is looking a lot better than the previous years Bambi-in-the headlights, but is equally inconsistent. He can play close to elite one half and back to where-the-hell-am-I in the other half. And with Burress on my fantasy team I wish I could say he was performing well (last 2 weeks numbers have helped me to the bottom of my league ).

Kool-Aid has averaged over 5 yards per carry in every game he's played except the first game of the year. What a dancer!

It's good to see Maroney hitting the holes hard again, like he did at the begining of last year.
