Default Is there any overnight parking or RV parks near Gillette?

I know the official lots don't allow overnight parking.

I have a friend with an RV and four of us are thinking of going to a game, but Albany, NY is too far to do as a day trip.

Ideally we would like to drive out on Saturday. Park. Next morning wake up tailgate, walk to game. Watch game, walk back to RV, tailgate some more, sleep, wake up Monday and drive home.

Such a plan would eliminate a need for a designated driver and would eliminate the traffic hassles (as compared to parking at an RV park outside of walking distance and driving in and out on game day).

We don't need any hookups, just a parking spot. It has a generator and large enough tanks to be self contained for a few days.

If there was a location further than walking but close enough to ride bikes and place to lock the bikes at the stadium that could work too.

No RV parking anywhere near the stadium. This is the closest:

Normandy Farms Campground

Thanks.

Five miles, bit far to walk. But close enough to go with plan B (bikes). Or plan C (cab).

Anyone know if bikes can be locked at the stadium and if bike riding on route 1 would be safe enough to do on game day?

You may be killed trying to ride your bike to the stadium. I'd check with some locals to see if you could park at their business/home for a fee or something.

Route 1 is a highway so riding your bike is illegal.

I would definitely check the private lots . I would bet you would find someone willing to charge you extra to park for 24-36 hours.

A couple to try:

Lafayette House (508) 543-5344

EndZone Motel (508) 543-4000

Seasonal Specialty Stores (508) 543-7112

PM me, I'll see if I can track the down the name and number for "Patriot Guy" who lives right on Pine St. next to the Lafayette House lot (we've parked there before, he's got the room).

What would I do instead of run out in front of 80,000 people and command 52 guys and be around guys I consider brothers and be one of the real gladiators? Why would I ever want to do anything else? It's so hard to think of anything that would match what I do: Fly to the moon? Jump out of planes? Bungee-jump off cliffs? None of that s--- matters to me. I want to play this game I love, be with my wife and son, and enjoy life." - Tom Brady

I know the owner of the Lafayette House and he will not do it. He has had problems with that in the past.

I don't know where the nearest one is, but WalMart has a standing policy that folks with RV's can park free overnight in their lots.

Edit: Found a WalMart at the following location. It says it is 5.2 miles from Foxboro, though how far from the stadium I can't say. However, THAT could be an easy place to catch a cab from, AND a free spot to park your RV. You might call them and enquire about parking there and cabs, distance from the stadium, etc.

Getting arrested is not on the to do list...so not a good idea.

Looking at the map...

Driving Directions from 72 West St Foxboro, Massachusetts to Gillette Stadium in 1 Patriot Pl Foxborough, Massachusetts

It looks like we might be able to take west st to south street to north street and sneak in the north street exit.

Is this for driving? The one bad thing about Gillette is that if you aren't driving in, it's not really transportation friendly. It doesn't sit in a city like most stadiums do- rather Patriot Place is trying to be a mini-city in the middle of the boondocks.
