Yet another columnist who posits that the Patriots don't/can't run the ball. This is not the run-and-shoot, I don't care what that F-ing GM says, that's just silly.

The run n shoot offense I recall - J Pardee's from the USFL days and the Oilers under W Moon - ran 4 wideouts who all were involved in a quick hitting passing styled offense.

I don't think the Pats run a quick hitting offense. I'd call it a big play, down the field, spread offense.

That is what I thought too. It's just a lazy analysis. "oh, dey tro da bawl all da frick'n time, so, dats da run an chute. Case closed."

WTF??

How bout this, the pats are all CIA agents, and they win because it is a plan to get world wide noteriety so that they will be invited to China and they will like take over china, cause they can roll like that.

Lets just make stuff up and then run with it like our hair is on fire.

Frick'n idiots.

Thanks.

And, what was the TE's responcability? I mean, was there a TE? There was not one according to my math if they ran with four Wide. And the pats use like two TE's a ton!

So, which GM is the stupidest in the world and made this analysis. Can every one say, former GM Casserly. (that dude really gets me. What a looooza!)

I grew up in Texas and remember the run-and-shoot well. It was a 3 or 4 WR set but in addition to that the "run" portion featured alot of roll-outs of the QB as well. (You could hit the deep ball on plays by moving the pocket.)

So no, we're not running a run-and-shoot. That comment was assanine. It's obviously the GM of the Jets, Rams, or Dolphins.

That said, I can't believe I'm reading that the biggest problem for the Patriots is going to be bad weather games. Bad weather games!? You mean the games that people are always whining give us too much of an advantage!? It's not like they've forgotten their short-passing and run games. They just don't need them right now.

Bad weather games. ROFL It's the Patriots, people. We dominate in bad weather (and when we don't we have a tuck rule.)

Pardee's run n shoot used 4 WR's and a scat back at RB who was more adept at catching the ball then running it. A QB too. And 5 OL. No TE.

Hey, so how many times are we now gonna hear that the pats are "Basically" using the run and shoot?

These fools just go to the salt lick and sit their fat asses down, lickin away at whatever any one of their brethren spit forth.

Well there you go. It's the run-n-shoot, with Kyle Brady at WR.

How come we as like fans know this and both carucci and this GM have trouble with it?

The NFL has a lot of dunder-heads.

And brady really moves around in the pocket (as another poster stated.)

Sheesh.

Wind can make throwing downfield a dicey proposition at best, impossible at worst. Cold and snow have no effect one way or the other (for teams accustomed to such conditions), and snow probably helps the offense.
