Re: Wilfork fined
Watch the film in Mix's post above.
After Wilfork's hit, Sam Hurd (#17) throws a little shot at Harrison's head. Of course Rodney doesn't go flying the way Witten does (probably because Hurd doesn't weigh 1000 lbs like Wilfork) but still looks like a late shot to the head to me.
Even if Wilfork's shot was much harder, the fine was for a late hit: meaning after the play was over. But again, looking at the tape, it appears that not only is Hurd still engaging Harrison, but there are two players above the pile (you can only see their legs) who appear to be still engaging each other after Wilfork's hit.
That's four other players besides Wilfork, who obviously don't think the play is "over".
While I agree that these fines are ridiculous, they should at least be consistant across the board. Anyone wanna guess how much any of these other guys were fined!

New rule being proposed by the Competition Committee for 2008:
The NFL Commissioner may adjust the wins and losses of all teams throughout the regular season and during the playoffs. This will finally achieve parity within the NFL and will prevent any team from building a dynasty, even if that dynasty is legally achieved through masterful drafting, free agent acquisitions, intelligent use of the salary cap, excessive preparation, and brilliant coaching.
