Default OT: KC president Thum resigns

Chiefs president resigns | ProFootballTalk.com

The last obstacle in Pioli's way is now gone. Thum is the last of the old guard responsible for a lot of KC's incompetence over the years.

Pioli is the man now. Let's see what the next few years bring.

interesting timing...

im assuming the deal was he would see if pioli's moves would make the club better, if so, he would resign, otherwise he would stay to help

the chiefs won against SD for the first time in like 3 years, so hes leaving???

I wouldn't know Thum if I bumped into him on the street, but don't underestimate the role that the uncertainties caused by Lamar Hunt's health over his last few years of life played in KC's problems. I'm not sure we can lay the Chiefs' "wilderness years" at Thum's doorstep.

Ho hum. Pats drafts have been much better the past two years since Pioli left.
