Default More Idiocy from Peter Queen

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...eli/index.html

His response to the timeout "crisis":

"All that has to happen is for the defensive team, on a field-goal try, to be banned from taking a timeout after the five-second mark on the play clock. Simple. If you don't know whether you have the right number of players on the field by the time there's five seconds left on the play clock, there's something very much wrong with the team's organizational skills."

What about the situtation, Peter, when the FG team is running on to the field and there is 15 seconds less in the game, with the clock running? In this case, the kick will have to go off before the play clock gets down to 5 seconds. This man simply does not have a brain in his head.

Yeah, that made me raise an eyebrow, as well. It's a frustrating manipulation of the rule, as is, but it's hard to get around.

He did mention that the only reason NE scored the last TD was because Dallas kept calling late timeouts.
