Default Kevin Faulk

I remember not too long ago a few of our fans on here where having a real go at Kevin and how he fumbles too many times etc.etc. and some even considered the idea of releasing him !! Well as much as i worry about him fumbling i still think he is a valuable and under rated player on this team. Yesterday i was impressed with his play because he delivered in the second half when asked. Impressive if only a few runs. He was the only healthy running option left at a very crucial part of the game. Well done Kevin and i am very sure the best of him is still to come. GO PATS. Abdul

He does fumble too many times but he is also a valuable contributor to the team. OK?

well, I'm not sure his best is yet to come, but he does seem to have gotten over his fumble-itis. And even all those years when he coughed up the ball on a regular basis, t least he never tossed the ball on the ground because his leg hurt, like what's-his-name did.

When it's all over and they're all retired (except Bill, hopefully) I think we're going to realize that we underappreciated him. He 's done so much for this offense for so long that I take it for granted that he'll always be there picking up 3rd downs.

I used to think he ran too high, went down too easily on upper body shots, and fumbled too much. Also had trouble blocking on blitz pick-up. He has steadily improved and is not only one of the best third down RB in the league, he runs effectively inside and out and no longer gives up the ball. Great back.

I'm so happy to agree completely with this. I hate when I have to disagree with people that go overboard, but Kevin was holding that ball like it was gold and running very well in a clutch need situation.

We didn't need him in the passing game, but he's one of the best receivers out of the backfield I've ever seen.

Is he Jim Brown? No, he is what he is, a great clutch player, best 3rd down back in football, maybe and obviously trying to show the coach he can be a dependable all around back when need arises.

Something about his grip on that ball made me forget about the "f" word for the first time while he ran up the middle.

Take him for what he is. He has been on this team almost a decade, so he is not some new guy or unknown quantity.

He plays well in third down situations, he can occasionally put together a good run attack for a whole game, but his utility decreases if we rely on him for extended periods of time. He fumbles more than we like, even though he has soft hands. He is a great, great, great asset in third down dump off passes and he can really excel in screen plays and open space. The further he gets from the LOS, the better he looks.

His blocking has been good for a while.

He is a steady, middle class team player and has been very handy overall since at least 2003.

But he is not a superstar. I think most of us appreciate him just fine.

It is interesting to note that all our running backs have had good YPC with our new passing attack keeping defenders away from the LOS.

I am so sick of hearing about him fumbling. He has been much better recently when it comes to holding onto the ball. Right now he is no worse of a fumbler than anyone else on our team.

Kevin has been a great all around back for us. He can catch and he can run both very well. There have been games where our main RB's were stuffed and we brought in Faulk and he had some very solid runs, if I recall against the Chargers and even against the Cowboys when Morris was getting stuffed every play but Kevin ran for 50.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.
