Just watched the replay of this sequence. Helluva job by Barber to stay alive, escape his own end-zone, but good CHRIST, who do we have to blow to get a holding call there? The OL against Rodney - while Barber was stuck in the EZ - grabbed him by the jersey and then threw him down onto the field. BEYOND holding. It was an obvious mugging-holding.
That's a huge play there, a significant non-call, and leads me to the main point of this thread...the officiating today, despite being in the hands of the ordinarily capable Mike Carey, was TERRIBLE. Holding calls - not just that one - went unflagged all day.
I understand the reasoning behind not being able to reverse the "shoved out"-ness of the bogus non-call against T.O. - and it didn't matter since Dallas scored soonafter. BUT - how did they NOT make the call on the field? It was OBVIOUS that Hobbs pushed him out, the official was right there, you can't miss that call.
Any others that I'm missing? All in all, a tough day for the crew. A bad job overall.

Anyone think that there might of been a memo to the refs to let some things go this was a very hyped game they wanted a shootout!
The least holding calls the more points scored on both sides.
Or i could just be searching for smoke.

It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."
The refs called so many penalties on the Cowboys that it would have looked bad if they calld even more.... What we saw was physical domination by the Pats; cheating was the only way the Cowboys could stay in it. So they cheated all game long.
I would agree.......... I ended up watching a few Dallas Offensive snaps looking for that. I'd say there were BLATANT holding non-calls on about 75% of the ones I watched. Not talking subtle ones either. Outright mugging in most cases.
That said, Dallas did get a lot of flags today so its not like the refs were calling nothing. I just think the O line was so overwhemed that they couldn't help themselves. It wasn't an easy day for them.

Thank you patsox23, I couldn't agree more. The officiating yesterday was downright disgusting at times. I understand wanting to let the guys play, but there were a lot of blatantly obvious Cowboy holding calls going "unnoticed", amongst other referee flub-ups in the game. It seemed at times that the Cowboys could've been called for holding on every stinking play. One that really stood out to me was on the T.O. touchdown where there were two different Pats pass rushers (Harrison and I believe Green) were being held.......Jarvis was practically getting his jersey pulled under his shoulder pads. The Cowboys could've easily had 200+ yards of penalties levied in this game........Pats could've won this game by 4 or 5 TDs if not for the sketchy officiating.

There's an uncalled holding on every play in any given game, more or less. I don't like it either, but it happens. The Patriots won, the officials made some good, some bad calls.

I agree with you. However, I believe the Pats v Cowboys game was worse than normal.

if you heard the cowboy players post game interviews they felt some calls didnt go their way

Yeah but when a absolutely terrible hold happens in the endzone during a would-be safety, it has to be called.
