Default A single play illustrates why some teams are perennial losers

In the St. Louis game, the Rams recovered a fumble. The ball carrier has a five-man escort to the endzone, and not one of them bothers to block anyone, instead opting to run ahead to get a good spot at the TD celebration.

Tackle, stalled drive, blocked FG, 4-point loss.

Contrast that with a play from a few years ago when Willie Mac pulled a teammate's jersey to slow him down enough for Willie to blow a guy up and clear the way.

So the Rams are doomed to losing because they didn't take a fumble to the house? They won a Superbowl 10 years ago. If we don't win another SB by 2014 are you going to be saying the same thing about us?

A team is a perennial loser when their top two receivers are in the locker room when the offense is on the field near the end of the half. I thought that the behavior of Ochocinco and TO was reprehensible.

You're kind of missing my point here.

Yeah, that...wasn't a good start.

I thought the OP was referencing the Cowboys at the end of the first half. Instead of taking a knee, they ran a useless running play on their own 30 which Deangelo Hall striped and took to the house.
Washington is no better. In a game where points are at a premium, they took points off the board on a penalty on a field goal only to muff the later field goal and lose 3 points. The announcers didn't even discuss the concept of taking points off the board until AFTER the muffed FG attempt...

Yet when all is said and done, Randy Moss will be the only one remembered for leaving the field before the clock read 0:00 - everyone else will be forgiven, for having been on their way for treatment from their trainers in the final analysis of fans and the media.

Ochocinco needed IV fluids. Thats not a behavior issue.

TO is an idiot though.
