I agree the jury is still out on every team. Teams start out great then fall apart in the 2nd half and vice versa.
ALSO....once every 10 or so years, along comes a very special team.
They start strong, play strong in the middle and really know how to finish. They get stronger and stronger as the season rolls along. They gain homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, hold serve and then absolutely blow out their Superbowl opponent.
I think New England is that very special team, this decade, this year.
Sit back and enjoy the ride.....Let's go Pats.....

Exactly nothing sure yet remember, the 2001 Pats were 1-3 at this time and who here though they would be World Champs at the end. I believe this years Pats look like they will become the best Patriots team yet but let not get too far a head of ourselves here. There is a lot of football left lets see what unfolds and enjoy it.

My big question is can our secondary deal with all world receivers? if carson can get some time will hobbs, gay, and sante be able to stick to the recievers? if not we will have a load of trouble with dallas and indy.
They did fine last year without Gay and with Hobbs hurt. And don't start yammering about the playoff loss, it was Clark who killed us there and we've improved the LB big time. We did fine against the Bengals last year and Samuel was out.
Regarding the question, the teams we've played have played competitively against the other teams they've played and have been laughed out of the building against us. Until further notice, we ARE that good - but the jury is always out, the NFL changes from week to week.
I think it is a bit early - ive been hearing over and over again that this is the best pats team ever and we are 3 games deep. It may very well be the best team, but too early to determine it definitively

I'm ready to call this team the best Patriots team I've ever seen already. Some times you just have to go with what your eyes tell you. Sure, football is all about matchups, but it's not like the Patriots are going spread formation and giving exotic looks to dominate. They're playing legit NFL teams and utterly destroying them in every possible way. The Chargers weren't just beaten on the scoreboard, they couldn't wait to get off the field so they wouldn't have to face the Patriots anymore. I can't wait to see the games where the Pats face a team for the second time; those teams are going to be doing some crazy **** just to have a prayer or turtling to try to keep the score respectable.
I'm all about the caution and waiting for enough evidence, but I'm also not going to deny a reality that's staring me in the face. There's a chance I'm wrong, but I think this Patriots team is a "stars-lining-up" moment that's only happened one other time in my sports rooting life ('86 Celtics ... man was that a great team).
I'm going to call it now and enjoy watching it unfold. It's more fun this way. I can appreciate every game fully, knowing the historic nature of what I'm seeing. If I'm wrong, I'll adjust and be disappointed later ... for now, I'm riding the wave.
I think the way a team plays against another team, whether that second team is good or bad, says a lot about the team. You play the teams that are on your schedule, but it says a lot if you manhandle bad teams, or if you are just barely getting by.
Funny thing about the Patriots--any time you look at who they've played, they have at least one loss. Those teams with fewer losses, are still ahead on the schedule. I just can't imagine how this statistical abhorrance shows up every year. It's as if, the teams the Patriots have already played suck, but those they haven't yet played, have more formidable records than teams the Patriots already handed L's to.
But, the Patriots are lucky, since the AFC East is very weak. The Patriots hand out an average of + 5 L's, and - 5 W's, to the other AFC East teams, but that's just a coincidence.
