Default Did Seau get more PT than Bruschi?

I don't think Reiss tallies defensive packages yet, but I have the game tivo'd and will likely re-watch later this week. But based on my recollection, it seemed like Seau played more than Bruschi, and was really effective while he was in there. I noticed the run defense get a lot stingier when Seau started to get on the field more.

Based on pure knowledge of the game from memory. I would say Seau played more than Bruschi. But im almost positive i saw Bruschi involved in more plays/tackles than Seau.

EDIT:

Bruschi 3 solo tackles 1 ast
Seau 3 solo tackles 2 ast

THOMAS: 7 solo tackles 2 ast.

Seau's a better player than Bruschi at this point in their respective careers, I think.

Personally would like to see a lot of rotation amongst our MLB, as this is where we have seemed to have had a lot of injuries the last couple of years, keep them fresh and keep them injury free as much as possible. I am not sure either one really cares about who gets more snaps, it is all about who wins.

Seau also got a few reps at FB too. They actually had him run a pass pattern in the endzone, but the LB had him well covered.

And Seau is at least four years older, right? Seau is a workout demon who realizes that's the only way he can keep playing. I wonder if Tedy works as hard in the offseason.

Yes he did. I expected Seau to see more reps on early downs, with Bruschi being brought in in passing downs. The last two games (SD & Bills) Bruschi's playing time has been very limited.

The Herald saw the same thing.

"3. It seems like there’s been less of Tedy Bruschi, and more of Junior Seau, or, at the very least, that inside linebacker slot next to Adalius Thomas has become a tag-team tandem. Together, the spirited Seau (5) and Bruschi (4) had as many combined tackles as Thomas (9) , who led the team."

Once the team is up by 20+ in the 4th quarter it is time to put in the backups (Alexander and even Mr. LB Larry Izzo). A banged up LB core in the playoffs would really hurt the overall defense.

Looks like next year Seau and Bruschi have to be replaced.

Just because you see Seau blow up the middle and make the big play and pose for the cameras doesnt mean Teddy is not as good. In that scheme it has more to do with the head rather the physical. Seau has always been full tilt all the time which gets him a lot of tackles but he also gets out of position sometimes. Teddy may not blow up the play on every down but he is rarely out of position.
