Default Manny Lawson out for year with torn ACL

Now I wasn't sure if this should be in the visiting locker room or in the Patriots forum.
I decided to go in the Patriots forum since they hold our only first round pick and I know we will all root against the 49ers every week, but we never hope for injuries to any player but this has to hurt the 49ers defense.

Might be a stupid question, but what is the ACL part of the body? Just trying to get an idea of how badly he is hurt

Obviously we never root for injuries, but I'm perfectly at peace with being okay when the 49ers face adveristy this season - especially after their infuriatingly lucky start. Best of luck to Manny Lawson, though - that is a HUGE bummer.

Seconded. Lawson was someone I was hoping the Patriots would've gotten last year's draft.

Speak for yourself, man

With what we've been put through this year, non life altering injuries to the 49ers are a good thing (to me). Too bad they have two cheap wins already.

It's the ligament in your knee that connects the femur to the tibia. In other words, it hurts. Alot. And it's the type of injury that can change a guy's career, since knee problems tend to be chronic (see Bure, Pavel)

Ouch. Thank you for explaining that one to me... I never like to see any players injured regardless of team. It takes the fun out of the Patriots playing them....

I hope that he is able to be up and running again soon....
