Re: ESPN: "Don't be surprised if Bill Belichick doesn't last the season."
Honestly, isn't this starting to get a wee bit into "libel" territory?

Re: ESPN: "Don't be surprised if Bill Belichick doesn't last the season."
For the sake of accuracy, can a mod change the title of this thread, which states that this is an opinion espoused by ESPN, and not one of its columnists.
If an anchor had said this, or it had been written in an ESPN.com news article, you could claim that this was the editorial view espoused by the network.
It wasn't. It was an opinion espoused by a weekly columnist. Yes, ESPN is milking it for page views on their front page, but that's their job.
Re: ESPN: "Don't be surprised if Bill Belichick doesn't last the season."
Stop and reflect for a moment people. Given what you know about Belichick and the Patriots and contrast that with what you read about them in a concerted effort by the media to discredit EVERYTHING they've ever done. Then think about other issues like international and national news, science reporting (my particular field & beef) and how the media piles on wholesale and as a consequence of the 24/7 presentation of their message how everyone comes to believe the mainstream media viewpoint, except for a few. A sobering perspective on the sad state of journalism.

Re: ESPN: "Don't be surprised if Bill Belichick doesn't last the season."
I was waiting for TMQ's take on this issue and am now very disappointed. But not surprised since he equated people who murder dogs to deer hunters in a previous column just to attempt to prove his point.
What a tool. I am now done with him as well.
This is bigger than the gambling scandal of Lombardi's Packers? That's what he is saying.
He is implying that RG would ban BB from the league?!
For you DTV owners you can "suspend" your service as any time after the season for up to 9-months. I plan on doing this. I am pretty much done with the media after this. Read a book.

Yes that was him. The exact quote is as follows... it seems ESPN was simply hoping time would make people forget... anyway...
"Disney's CEO, Michael Eisner, is Jewish; the chief of Miramax, Harvey Weinstein, is Jewish. Yes, there are plenty of Christian and other Hollywood executives who worship money above all else, promoting for profit the adulation of violence. Does that make it right for Jewish executives to worship money above all else, by promoting for profit the adulation of violence? Recent European history alone ought to cause Jewish executives to experience second thoughts about glorifying the killing of the helpless as a fun lifestyle choice." - Gregg Easterbrook

Wrong. That is ESPN's bag of dog doody. They own it, it's on them.
ESPN chose to pay Easterbrook for this column. They are responsible for the views expressed by him on their site.
Completely different from a fansite like this. Ian isn't paying anyone here (insert joke) and has a more limited responsibility for what is written on the messageboards.

Holy ****!
I never read that. I'm speechless.

Not as much journalism per se, but the way the Internet has changed things. The line between legitimate reporting and off-the-cuff opinionating has been blurred via "blogging." It's no wonder people are confused and upset by what they read. It used to be a reporter's job to separate wheat from chaff and present us with the facts. Now, the reader has to sort through a lot of garbage to discern substance and meaning, and it's a royal pain in the arse. The Internet's lure of "immediacy" and lack of accountability is the primary culprit.

blah blah Patriots cheat blah Coach devil blah blah kicked out of league blah blah integrity blah blah what a joke god I hate ESPN!
