You know what I'm waiting for? (and I don't think it's unrealistic)

I'm waiting for someone....anyone, really in the media or wherever, to get sick of this whole thing. To realize the Jets seem to talk about "new investigations" with every loss, coincidentally. To realize that we are still winning and the world is still turning. People love to be contrary. Sometimes not going along with the mob will get you even more recognition. So I'm waiting for the worm to turn.

I thought Brady put things in context really well. The main theme (paraphrasing, I was listening in the car): BB and his staff are amazing, the whole team's preparation and attention to detail are extraordinary. Absolutely, the coaches are always looking for any possible angle and advantage -- within the limits of fair play. BB thought the taping was legit, he was wrong, he's paid for it. But it was just a tiny grain of sand in the giant mounds of preparation the Patriots do. And the idea that opponents' defensive calls were being radioed in to Brady pre-snap is absolutely absurd.

Oh, and rather that worrying about what people say and responding with words, they preferred to respond with their play on the field. Which they certainly did.

It very clearly sounded like he and the team were very motivated by the things said by other teams and other coaches... and insulted by the various suggestions of anyone calling into question their wins.

He made a point of saying that such statements are based on ignorance, and that he's lost respect for those who have made such ingorant statements. They'll just continue to respond by letting their actions on the field speak for them rather than "classless" statements and displays.

As others mentioned, he was asked point blank if he knew what was going on re: videotaping... he danced around a bit saying only that they expect the coaches do everything it could to get every advantage, within the rules of the game.

He made clear however that any suggestion that defensive calls were being picked up, instantly interpreted and sent to him so he could adjust his reads accordingly were just rediculous.

He was also asked what he thought about Goodell... he didn't say anything bad but you got the clear impression he wanted to, just knew he had to be diplomatic... basically said Goodell has a tough job and has a lot of public relations experience. I took this to meant that Brady views Goodell's actions as designed to send a message to everyone in the league by making the Patriots a public scapegoat... and that he doesn't appreciate it.

I think what I loved best was when the veteran players on the team all approached Belichick after the game and had words with him, as if to say, "We got your back, coach. We're going to shred this league this year in your honor."

The ranks have closed.

The wagons have circled.

The 2007 Patriots are a team on a mission.

This team, as pissed off as they are, with this kind of overwhelming talent, has officially reached HISTORICALLY SCARY dimensions.

I heard the interview as well. He seemed especially pissed that players and coaches were piling because they should know better. Something about ignorance
