Default The not official "I love Randy Moss" thread

I am eating some crow here. I expected to see a decoy guy, doubled teamed out of games and making the odd grab for a 1st down here and there. Instead, I saw the second coming of Stanley Morgan: The plucks from mid-air, beating multiple defenders, deceptive striding through space etc etc.

Rand, Gawd bless ya!

Any thread that mentions Stanley Morgan deserves to be bumped.

Moss really did put on a show on Sunday.

The guy is hands down the best reciever in the NFL. This is going to be one hell of a season, guys. The only problem is going to be signing him at the end of the year. Are we going to want to shell out the money for the contract he's going to want, coming off a 14 TD 1,300 YD year?

It would be great if he put up those numbers, Grizzafted. I think a lot of DCs will have ****** themselves, watching him. How do you cover everyone when he can stretch it like that?
The Jets tried all sorts of blitzes, zones, double coverages, safeties dropped waaaay back and the Pats just adapted. In fact, one of my favourite moments was when the Pats came out and ran something like six straight running plays on their first series, Rhodes (I think) came into the box so they just went to the shotgun with four or five wide. Genius. The real lesson for teams is build your defensive line and pass rush first, otherwise the O will dictate to you, not vice versa.
Anyway, back to Moss. What really impressed me was his effort. He really went for everything that was thrown his way and made an effort to get past defenders after the catch. I seriously underestimated his impact and I am happy to say that.

Easy to love your new player after ONE stellar game! Y'all are astute fans of the NFL and it's players!

Wait till he comes back to earth, pouts like a baby because he didn't get his touches, takes plays off, and avoids football hits, starts lockerroom trash.....oh wait....this is NE.......the team that'll cut anyone .- even those that bled and game you championships....wouldn't buy that jersey just yet!

Proud to say I've been on the Moss bandwagon since well before the draft day trade. Way back early off season when the Moss trade rumors started.

The guy on the sidelines was probably video taping Moss's performance!

Whne he gave up the 5 mil to come here and get a shot at a ring he sold me. I was thrilled with his play. Showcasing him in the first game like will force every DC to try to deal with him. He will make the ENTIRE O more effective. He will also gfet his share of catches to boot. If he is scary now what will he be like when he and Brady have played 10 + games together

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

When the Moss rumors first started going around I was against the trade because it was rumored the Patriots would have to give up a first rounder for him. I thought that was to expensive considering the risk (his baggage and contract) and said I'd take him if they only had to give up a third and he restructured. Once NE traded a fourth for Randy and got him to rip his contract up I was all for it since I thought the risk vs reward ratio was very good. I mean if he messed up you lost a fourth rounder but at least you had a shot at him. If he cashed in you got one of the best WR's in NFL history for a fourth rounder, lol!

So far Randy's produced and seems to be drinking the koolaid now he just has to stay healthy and keep on drinkin'
