You see a cover like that, "Patriots send a shiver through the NFL," "Tom Brady is God" and you wonder why people are jumping all over this story, taking one "true fact" and turning it into an indictment of the franchise and all it's accomplished this decade?

I'm afraid that we have to sit back and take some of the vitriol that we've been hearing and get ready for more when the penalty is announced. Despite the AFC title game, we are King of the Mountain and will be until and unless Indy wins this year's SB or BB and TB leave the Patriots; and, people will want and need to trash us, whether legitimately or illegitimately.

What's that old Chinese saying - something like "we live in interesting times"...? We seem to have gone from the top of the mountain - Sunday- to the bottom - in a couple days.

I sense though the Patriot players are going to rally this Sunday and start the uphill climb again....and in a big way.
