Default How did Maroney look out there?

I think he's looked kind of mediocre, but what do I know.

I thought he looked great. Was hitting the holes with authority. The few times he got stuffed were mainly the product of OL breakdowns.

He's sharing the load with Morris and Faulk.

He wasn't the star of the game that's for sure.

He looked good at first.

Then it looked like the only time he got to run was the same time the Jets were run blitzing. O-line didn't get the holes for him.

I thought Morris was great.

Still, 20 carries for 74 yards, not bad, but not great either.

It'll be better. Much better.

I thought Maroney looked good but they yanked him for a bit in the second quarter which was bizarre. Don't know why but he came back.

Looked good and moved the pile at times. No happy feet in the backfield.

OK, maybe I'm too harsh then, I'll give him some more chances before I throw in the towel.

He got his bell rung (knee to the head) early on and was tapping his helmet to be taken out. They didn't right away. But then he sat for a while and when he came back in he was tentative for a while. Got a little better late, but then the JETS had worn out by then too.

In general, the running game looked great. Looked like the coaching staff wanted to give Maroney and then Morris some sustained reps, and then back off until they wanted pure ball control at the end. The blocking in the first quarter was excellent. The Jests adjusted, and then after halftime, the Pats came out and executed a sound running game. Anyone expecting Maroney to have 4 TDs and 185 yards in this game needs to remember that there are a few others on the roster that will get the ball, and that's a good thing.

Maroney and Morris make a good team, and when the emphasis on the running game is in order, I'm confident that they'll excel.

Morris looked better than Maroney. Maroney did not see the lanes as well and did not hit them as quickly as he is capable. I thought he looked tentative at times. I hope he will improve as he sees more action.

Sorry for the immediate follow-up post, but you've gotta be ****ing me! If you're a Pats fan, you just had an experience where you woke up on Christmas day or your birthday and got every present you asked for. You got a tremendously talented LB who stuffs the run and covers any receiver, not just TEs, but WRs as well! You just got a tall, lanky WR who can run like the wind without any effort while the DB pursuers look like they can't pump their little legs fast enough while fading away and not keeping up. On top of all that, you got a slot receiver who has the guts, intelligence, and quickness to get open and read the QB like he's been here for 4 years.

So now you want to criticize a second-year running back who has tons of talent, but must share the ball with many other offensive stars. Give it a break! Throw in the towel????

The only person happier than you, if you are a Pats fan, is Tom Brady.
