See, thats what pisses us Jets fans off when talking to Pats fans. When you guys get optimistic about a season and start predicting deep playoff runs or whatever, its justified, because you've been there before recently. However, when Jets fans try to be optimistic, we're 'the most delusional fans ever.'

If you really think about it though, I think you would find that before Mo Lewis helped the Pats win the lottery, I doubt you Pats fans we're talking amongst each other about how the season is shot, and that you have no chance. In fact, I'll even go further to say that back then in 2000 or whatever, Jets fans would be the ones calling Pats fans delusional for being optimistic.

Of course, there will always be some wacky delusional fans in nearly any fan base. But I think its way too often that people confuse optimisim with delusion. Fans are supposed to be optimistic heading into a season, as they all want to see their team do well, and I think as Pats fans who have gotten deep into the playoffs every year since '03, you guys haven't been in our position in a while.

The point I hope that I made here is that there is a difference between optimism and delusion, and the minute fans from both teams begin to understand that, bigger and better discussions can occur.
