I understand your point though...Just am antsy...I'd like something else to talk about.

No word yet

Hey all --

Just wanted to let you know that we are waiting word on the Patriots' cuts almost as impatiently as you probably are. The deadline passed more than a half hour ago and we haven't gotten the email yet...

I suspect they wait till just at 4pm so no other teams get an advantage. But that's just a FAX or email to the league office. Then they have to actually call the cut guys in, and tell them the bad news. Takes a hour or so I'd bet.

If you start telling guys first, they phone their agents who then spread it around the league, so if you want to wait to 4 for the league wire to get the news, then you can't tell guys before then.

It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

And he might have a point, except that would be 3 hours... Peter King on the ND halftime show just said the JAGS have until 6PM to trade or cut Leftwich. Didn't say in which time zone though... Maybe the league alternates and this year it's on Mountain time...
