Default Jets and Thomas Jones injury news

This can't be good news if you are a Jets fan.

Thomas Jones: Achilles Strain Leads to Calf Strain --

Mon Aug 20, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com

SNY's NFL Insider Adam Schein reports that Jets RB Thomas Jones had an achilles injury that led to his calf strain. "A source close to Thomas Jones tells me that the orginal injury the running back had was an achilles strain, and as a result of favoring that injury, one week ago in practice, he suffered a calf strain," said Schein on SNY's Geico Sportsnite. "The same source did tell me, Adam, he will be ready for the New England Patriots game in Week One. Achilles strains can linger thoughout the course of a campaign. So it was an achilles strain that morphed into a calf strain."

Are they saying if the achilles injury pre-dated his coming to the Jets?... if so it seems the Bears sold damaged goods... though his playoff production was pretty good... did he hurt himself in the Super Bowl?

The Jets are talking about contacting Mr. CD himself. Although I thought he has made his decision about playing again?

Not sure what they are suggesting timeframe wise, JSP.

The point now however is that Jones has a bum achilles, in addition to a strained calf muscle.

Achilles injuries are very bad injuries to recover from as they are a part of the body which receives very little blood flow. Thus they are a very slow healing injury. For an athlete who earns a living juking, jiving, planting and accelerating in and out of cuts in awkward positions, to be nursing such an injury is not good news

I'm going in for tendonosis/tenosynovitis tomorrow--and this explains a lot about why I've been having jiving issues lately!

LOL

Just keep that back healthy. As a chiropractor I can tell you that bad backs are also known to cause problems with jiving, amongst others things, as well .........

He just turned 29 2 days ago. Hes been racking up the miles by averaging 283 carries a year over the past 3. If I were the NYJ, I'd be very concerned.

He will be ready to go in week 1, he is a warrior. The Patriots have their own walking wounded to worry about.

Compared to years past, I'd say the Pats are pretty healthy overall. *Knock Knock*
