Night moves
Posted by Karen Guregian at 8:16 pm

The night session produced more highlights - and more activity - from the resident stars, as Tom Brady and Randy Moss, who were given a lighter workload during the morning practice, were full-fledged participants.

Brady was back hitting bullseye’s, catching his receivers in stride, throughout most of the sessionWhile Jabar Gaffney continues to be his go-to-guy, tight-end Benjamin Watson was finally heard from, making several great catches.

Watson basically reminded everyone the while the Pats’ went out and acquired Moss, Wes Welker, Kelley Washington, Donte Stallworth, et al, he can still catch the football and do damage. His best was a one-handed diving catch of a low ball delivered from Brady with Adalius Thomas practically attached to his hip.

Reche Caldwell also came through with the play of the day, hauling in a perfectly thrown Matt Cassel bomb, diving to make the catch between Tory James and James Sanders.

As for Moss, the chemistry continues to grow. The two are hooking up with more frequency and with more results, particularly in the red zone.

At the end of practice, however, Brady was frustrated at not being able to score while directing the two-minute offense. His final pass went incomplete, intended for Gaffney. The steam was still coming out of his ears as he and Bill Belichick walked off the field together after a brief chat.

Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft, meanwhile, was a spectator on the sidelines for the second practice. At one point, rookie Brandon Meriweather, who just signed, came over and shook his hand.

Smart move, kid.
