Practice change
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Due to the heavy rains this afternoon and the amount of water on the outdoor practice fields, the Patriots training camp practice scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 this evening has been moved inside the Dana-Farber Field House, the team's indoor practice facility.

Due to space restraints inside the facility, the public will not have access to any of the practices inside the Dana-Farber Field House.

Practice attendance
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

...

Fans that came down in hopes of watching the practice are seated inside Gillette Stadium, and are watching the workout on the scoreboard.

Its not the same, though. You don't get to see everything the way you would seeing it in person. But its better than nothing.

And yes, it does seem like a change in policy on the fly...

Not really. It's been like that for years.

I'm not sure if in the past the Pats have said the practice is closed to the public though.

I beginning to think M. Reiss should be thanking this forum because it seems like whatever we talk about, he writes about in a confirmation or denying way... He writes about it a half hour after this was posted, and it's more than a coincidence...

In the past...I never remember anything about practice closed totally if there is rain...instead it was Gillette for the fans. This year...it was posted different as to what would happen...thus a change in at least "announced policy"...not in practice...with a moved inside practice.

I agree it is NOT the same...except you CAN sometimes see lineman's drills O/D...where on the field they are far away...but I agree different.
