Overall that was a nice piece, but I couldn't help thinking he was pimping Samuel's position too much. A seasoned reporter MIGHT think to question where all those "market offers" are coming from...BUT not Breer. That's the reason I will totally disregard ANYTHING Breer writes about the Samuel situation until it is ultimately resolved. He is CLEARLY bought and paid for, and will write only what the Samuel camp desires.

Yeah.

We’re hearing, pretty emphatically, that the corner has the offer he wants from “several teams.” And given that, he feels like signing the $7.79 million tender makes little sense.

Okay, so then why doesn't he sign one of those offers?

Answer: There aren't any offers. There are only teams telling him what he is worth. Believe me, as soon as an offer hits hits agents desk, he'll sign it.

One smart thing Breer says:

The Patriots don’t need a reminder of this. Chad Jackson pushed a hamstring injury last year, and it ended up putting a torpedo to his rookie year. Eugene Wilson, also, aggrevated a such ailment in Buffalo last season and wound up on IR for his troubles. Is Meriweather set back by missing minicamp? Well, of course. But it’s not worth risking losing him for a long period, at this time, for that experience.

Remember last year how some people kept screaming that Jackson had to get on the field. Remember all those "you can't make the club from the tub" comments? Well, how'e that work out. I'm hoping this year we don't get a bunch of people saying "Brandon needs to get on the field" and calling him a bust because he has a hammy issue. But it is probably a useless hope

The fact that other teams might be willing to give him the kind of salary he wants is irrelevant if they are not willing to give the proper compensation to the Patriots.

Yeah and these teams know that they aren't going to give up 2 firsts or maybe even 1 first round pick for him and the Pats won't let him go for any less. By offering him what he wants, this is their way of driving a wedge between AS and the Pats FO.

Maybe Breer shills for Samuel ... an' mebbe he don't.

But that is one HECK of a blog sequence.
Where else did you read this?:

"Moss did languish through the sprints, coming in last among skill players in just about every one, but from this view, there wasn’t a feeling of him dogging it elsewhere today. Here’s an example of what happens with him: On one play during the skeleton, Brady threw a bullet that was ticketed to go high over Moss’ head. He extended up, with a defender to each side of him, and simply snatched the ball out of the air without breaking stride. It didn’t draw many ooh’s and ahh’s, but that’s kinda the thing he does. He’s so natural that he can make what would be a spectacular catch for some look routine."

Ken,

Taken literally, that's a very serious charge.

Do you really mean it?
