Yeah.
We’re hearing, pretty emphatically, that the corner has the offer he wants from “several teams.” And given that, he feels like signing the $7.79 million tender makes little sense.
Okay, so then why doesn't he sign one of those offers?
Answer: There aren't any offers. There are only teams telling him what he is worth. Believe me, as soon as an offer hits hits agents desk, he'll sign it.
One smart thing Breer says:
The Patriots don’t need a reminder of this. Chad Jackson pushed a hamstring injury last year, and it ended up putting a torpedo to his rookie year. Eugene Wilson, also, aggrevated a such ailment in Buffalo last season and wound up on IR for his troubles. Is Meriweather set back by missing minicamp? Well, of course. But it’s not worth risking losing him for a long period, at this time, for that experience.
Remember last year how some people kept screaming that Jackson had to get on the field. Remember all those "you can't make the club from the tub" comments? Well, how'e that work out. I'm hoping this year we don't get a bunch of people saying "Brandon needs to get on the field" and calling him a bust because he has a hammy issue. But it is probably a useless hope
