Default Cassell or Culpepper...if Brady were to get injured...

Its almost an inevitable thing that during his tenure with his team, the starting QB gets injured if not for a few plays then maybe a week or two or even the entire season

According to Sirius radio,Reports are out that although its unconfirmed, the Patriots may be one of the 3 teams interested in Daunte Culpepper and for the Patriots it would probably be for veteran presence and to which is obviously nothing more than insurance for Brady's position for 2nd or 3rd string QB.

If he somehow is signed,In case of emergency at the QB Position who would you rather have as a replacement? - Culpepper who is a veteran QB but has some minor injury issues that still remain? or Cassell who is an unproven QB in this league but has been at Tom Brady's side for a few years.

Which would make you feel more comfortable?.
Would your opinion change between it just being a few plays while Brady gets the cobwebs out of his head and an entire season situation?

(I did not mention Guiterrez because he would likely not be in the plans regardless)

Matt Cassel, no question.

Culpepper couldn't even make it to training camp with a team that hasn't had a good QB since Marino.

Cassel. Not a doubt in my mind.

I would agree with Cassell because he has been in this system for a few years...If Cassell were just a free agent we signed I don't know which way I would have gone with this issue,But experience in the Patriots system is a much favorable advantage .

Plus Cassel has two healthy legs and can actually read a defense.

Culpepper. Without a doubt. Cassel hasn't started a game since high school, Culpepper, three years ago, put up the second best season for a QB in history. Of course, alot of that had to do with his top receiver, but, um...

He may have 2 healthy legs right now...As far as reading a defense you need to be in there for several games before annointing him that talent of being able to.

What?? Culpepper couldn't beat out Cleo Lemon and you have him starting over Cassell? Culpeppers confidence is gone, when he did play for the Phins you could see him dodging defenders like he was afraid of getting hit. When was the last time Culpepper did anything? He had his HOF year in 2004, then in 2005 he regressed and looked like a rookie. This happened BEFORE he was injured. He had a 72 rating with 6 TD & 12 INT's.

Cassell without a doubt. He knows the system, is younger, can run if needed and has learned how to read D's and stay cool under pressure from the best QB of our time.

Culpepper. If the nightmare scenario were to occur, we need a QB who can ease into the situation as smoothly as possible. Culpepper is a vet and he can manage a dumbed down version of our offense. Cassel hasn't exactly set the world on fire during his preseason starts and also nerves would be a problem.
