*Brady DID get Longest Drive,though
So, now the news that was good because it was not bad is now bad because it is not good that he is not there.....right?

That is a little dramatic, no? He wasn't going to show at any team-sponsored events or activities. Nothing more than that.

I would think people would have been through these contract squabbles enough to not take it personally. There is nothing personal abou it, just a negotiation. Both sides are trying to gain as much leverage as possible, nothing more or less.

In the end, it will come down to how much the Pats value his services vs. how much he values his own services.

I don't blame any players for doing what they have to do to get the best contract they can. They are commodities, and they only have value as long as they are healthy and playing well. They need to take advantage while they can.

Deion ended up doing well for himself, getting a big, fat contract. The Pats moved on and have done very well for themselves. No need to be bitter about it.

Conflicting reports between the media attendees. It makes little difference. It would have been nice to confirm his attendance; however, attending the charity event has little to do with whether Asante signs.

I'd be far more enthusiastic if he particiaptes in mini-camp.

I'm inclined to believe Holley because of his status as a former dreadlocker but the conflicting reports are confusing. Is it possible he is there but keeping a low profile and Reiss just didn't see him?

SO how does NOT attending a charity event have ANYTHING to do with leverage?? I think many saw Branch in a different light after that..and IF ANYTHING I think it showed how he didn't wish to be part of the team..more personal than anything business wise...and I think if it was to gain leverage, it showed how deep it all was. And HOW does not negotiating lead to the outcome of a contract??
I think it WAS deeply personal with him..and I also believe history will prove that to be correct..
