That is a little dramatic, no? He wasn't going to show at any team-sponsored events or activities. Nothing more than that.
I would think people would have been through these contract squabbles enough to not take it personally. There is nothing personal abou it, just a negotiation. Both sides are trying to gain as much leverage as possible, nothing more or less.
In the end, it will come down to how much the Pats value his services vs. how much he values his own services.
I don't blame any players for doing what they have to do to get the best contract they can. They are commodities, and they only have value as long as they are healthy and playing well. They need to take advantage while they can.
Deion ended up doing well for himself, getting a big, fat contract. The Pats moved on and have done very well for themselves. No need to be bitter about it.
