I'd like to have seen "too early to tell" as an option. He's just started on his big GANSTAH CRACKDOWN and it'll probably take a season to see how it works out and how appeals go.

He's taking an active role in trying to clean out the NFL. I like his hardline stance alot more than Tagliabue's look the other way passive stance.

His first real test, though, will come with negotiating a new CBA when the current one expires.

You cant necesarily say he'll be the best ever but he is certainly laying down the law for the NFL. And what he is doing is best for the league and its integrity.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.

Tags was a piece of crap. He had a clear agenda against a certain team I happen to root for, which was obvious from comments he made after one of our superbowl victories. Couldn't bring himself to say anything good about Brady and Belichick in response to a direct question, just mumbled that there are 'lots' of good players in the league.

Roz was the best.

I will love Goodell if he cracks down on Vick and his animal torture practices.

But he seems a little too intent to assert his will, and that worries me, he may go too far at some point. In fact, I really think he will end up pissing us all off at some point. He will make some needed reforms, but we will all breath a sigh of relief when he is gone.

Just like I celebrated the departure of Tags.

Maybe he might suspend the whole New England Patriots organization if we win too many Super Bowls in the next few years citing his decision was based on that we probably paid off the other 31 teams to lay down for us?

I really think that Tags already tried that to the absolute best of his ability in many ways that we don't know, and in some ways we do know.

Every single thing that has happened in this league since 2001 has been distinctly anti-Belichick or anti-Pats.

It was clearly an obsession that came from high up to reign in the champs through any means possible.

At least Goodell seems much more obsessed with reminding the overpaid 22 year olds that they are here for our entertainment, and nothing more.

But Goodell is going to swing a big stick, and we all will need to duck for cover at some point.

Does anyone get the feeling that Goodell has been biding his time in the shadows these past few years, waiting to pounce?

I can see him muttering under his breath every time Tags looked the other way when some overpaid player got into a fight outside a strip club and drew a gun or threw a punch.

"I'll get him when I am commish, oh yeah, just you wait......"

This guy's been awful. But, at least he's been able to piss on all the furniture and mark his territory.

It is really too early to tell, but some of the stuff lately is encouraging on Jones and Henry, it is time to take a stand and define expectations for these guys. NOt sure if he has the gonads to stand up against the owners yet, but the NFL is a cash cow and he wants to continue this.
