Default Many of us,including myself are guilty and should pray for forgiveness

I amongst many others on here bashed Marquise Hill in earlier times and said he was a waste of a draft pick,an unmotivated player a bust and a guy that should be kicked off the roster years ago.

I,as a man are admitting being guilty of this and am seeking Marquise and gods forgiveness for not respecting the man and treating him as just a football player and not a breathing being.

It takes a ton of talent to even sniff the level of the NFL and we really have no right to bash any player (especially one of our own here in Patriot Nation) in reality because it takes a ton of work and talent to get to this point and none of us here have that.

I said things like he should be a waterboy instead of a linebacker and here I sit empty hearted because I remember these things I said on here and am truly sorry.

If Marquise is up there somehow understanding my plea for his forgiveness please forgive me for all the bad things I said about you..I never knew about the father he was or the hard worker he was in the days before a game (Jim Miller on Sirius was saying Marquise was as hard a worker as he had ever seen when the two played here and that Marquise never took a day off and was always lifting and running hard) - I never knew the hero he was to become and this all just proves I am human and beg for Marquise and Gods forgiveness.

I,like many of my fellow Patriots fans is empty hearted and broken hearted this Memorial Day evening and my deepest sympathy goes out to any relative of the Hill family,May your son/uncle/nephew/grandson/cousin/father live an everlasting happiness where he is at now,He is a Warrior, and a hero in my book and may his soul rest in the arms of god forever

Marquise...We will miss you so much and the 2007 season is in honor of you!

If we need any motivation to win it all this year then there is no bigger bulletin board material needed in the Patriots Locker Room but one that simply says "GIVE IT YOUR ALL AND WIN IT ALL FOR MARQUISE HILL"

I gotta end this post now..I am getting teary eyed.

The best tribute we can give to him is to treat all players, no matter what skill level, as we would treat our friends and family, with respect.

Very true indeed...Next time I think of a guy like Chad Jackson or someone else who I think may be a failure on this team I will keep it to myself..or better yet never get the inner feeling to begin with - We all pay for it in time when we open our mouths and insert foot.

Nah, you can't beat yourself up for stuff that you said about Marquise-the-football-player. In the grand scheme of things football doesn't make an iota of difference, but it is a world unto itself and those involved in it, as players or fans, expose themselves to the good and the bad of the profession, which includes criticism. Hill was good enough to be in the NFL, on the roster of the greatest team of the decade. He was putting himself out there for praise or critisism, as a competitor he wanted it. RIP.

Dont feel guilty about it. No one could have ever seen this coming. It should just ask people not to judge players or call them names and say they suck especially when he is a very good person who helped in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and is now also a hero.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.

imo, i think its fine if you criticize a player..but know the limits. you can say..hes playing like **** and what not but the line is when you say: why cant we just get rid of him..hes a waste..hes the worst player and all that

remember..not everyone can make it to college..theres a handfull that do. Once they make it to college..its slim picking to the NFL. you have to realize..even if u went up against a guy like Beisel lets say, you would still be amazed at how good he is. These athletes are a lot beter than people give them credit. And worthless at times? Think practice..it starts there. They help make the starters better. their talent isnt bad..sometimes they dont fit into a system..some dont work hard enough..some take money for granted and all that

Ditto the last two posts... I actually have been a sometimes Marquis-Hill-Hoper for the last couple of years. But you know what? It doesn't matter. We talked about the player, not the man -- and that's understood, except in those rare cases when people go so far as to make personal comments (lazy, greedy, yadda yadda...)

He did the right thing in the end, helping a girl survive, even though he did not. As a man, he was a hero at the end.

I don't care if you thought he'd make the squad or was a wasted draft pick... just recognize these guys are human when we post, which most of us do.

There's speculation that some players/families/whatever read these boards. If so, all fan love/prayers/thoughts are for Marquis Hill and family tonight.

From what little I know, I think you hit the nail on the head, PFiV.

From the reports, it sounds like Marquise Hill died during an act of heroism that exceeds anything anyone can accomplish on a mere football field.

I posted something about this on another thread-I am sad to say I knew nothing about Marquis Hill,The Man,prior to watching the video clip from Louisiana (posted under RIP). He sounded like a great human being and he died as a great human being. Godspeed #91,and thank you for teaching me a lesson about appreciating EVERY member of this team.
