Re: history of #24 salary
Maroney's contract with the Patriots is a five-year package worth a total of $8.735 million, according to NFL Players Association figures. The deal doesn't include a signing bonus, but $6.13 million of the contract is guaranteed, and with easy-to-earn incentives it would increase to $6.2 million."
Maroney received a $875,000 roster bonus. He will receive workout bonuses of $81,720 in 2008; $96,720 in 2009, and $106,720 in 2010.
Jason Cole of Yahoo!Sports reported that "Maroney doesn't earn any incentive money until he rushes for 1,200 yards" .
This is what I have on Johnathan Joseph, last year's 24th overall pick.
"Bengals first-round pick Johnathan Joseph is believed to have agreed in principle to a five-year deal, according to an industry source on Friday night at 10:30 p.m., less than 24 hours before the start of training camp.
Joseph, a cornerback from South Carolina, takes the field with a contract that is reportedly worth $8.2 million and can earn another $2.5 million in escalators. About $5.6 million is guaranteed, mainly through signing bonuses."
