Default Congrats from a Ravens fan

Just wanted to tell you what an outstanding move it was to sign Adalius Thomas. AD as he is known is a friend of mine, in fact I am his marketing agent, but that aside, you will be amazed with his football abilities, and you got one heck of a citizen. Dont let his age fool you, he started late and plays more like a 27 year old than one about to turn 30. The fans in Baltimore were screaming when he was released, but there was just no way with the salary cap to keep him. I'll tell you what an honorable man he is, he has done a very succesful radio show here in baltimore for 3 years, so my first question was "Do you want to do a show in Boston?" His response was not the first year, because he wants to prove himself to the fans before he would do anything like that. AD was a basketball player at Southern Miss. as well as football, we will miss him tremendously. Again congrats, I will be rooting for him and you, except the Monday night game against us, I know you understand.

More than just an exceptional player, everything I have read about AD in past few weeks has blown me away regarding the HUMAN BEING he seems to be.

Thank you for your message. I went to a few Cleveland Browns sites myself last year in a similar vein to congratulate them on acquiring Willie McGinest.

Losing Thomas is tough, but the Ravens have so many good players on that defense to fill the void. It will still be exciting to watch the Ravens defense next season.

It will be very interesting to see how AD's transition to NE works out. Most of the posters here are very savvy, and we're recognizing and understanding the word out of the front office not to necessarilly expect 11 sacks next year.

i.e. - BB values AD because of his versatility but his defensive scheme does not necessarilly mean that AD will be let loose to generate gaudy sack numbers.

No doubt he'll have some but I think the smart football fan knows that one can't isolate a sack stat alone to measure someone like AD's worth.

Invariably, the majority of fans sometimes fail to understand this and might be disappointed if he doesn't duplicate his sack numbers from Baltimore, but AD seems secure in knowing the value he brings, and again, the smarter fans around here will be savvy enough to see it too, even if he doesn't average a sack a game.

Well, it you're affiliation is true, then please pass on our regards and tell him that many rabid fans would like to express our deep gratitude for him signing here. I have personally been a huge fan of his for a long time. When the prospect of signing him seemed possible, my curiousity led me to I find out that he seems to be an ever better person that player. To me, that's saying quite a bit. I made no bones on this forum about my desire for him to be a Patriot. It was often disregarded as bullwhark.

Now that he is here, many Pats fans for whom he was simply a recognizable name have become schooled about his game and person. I admire his thoughts about "proving himself" to us. If he simply plays his game, he will go on to become a Boston legend up there with the likes of our regards of our favorite Pats, Celts, and Bruins. The Sox, too. His radio show would likely be amongst the highest rated in the region, particularly for the rabid (such as those on this site) who want to know everything.

Anyhoo, this is getting long. Here's to Superbowls!

Felt from the onset that this is a very significant signing for this club, with the expected turnover of some of our leaders on D in the next couple of years (#54 & #37) he will fill this void and teach the replacements how to play this game and live their lives in the NFL.

There isn't a better defense in football at forcing turnovers. And not just that, but they seem to return their turnovers for touchdowns a lot. I hate Chris McAllister last year on fantasy and I think he had 2 himself.

I also agree with the orginial poster. Thomas was a great sign for the Pats. He's such a compliment to Bruschi, I think those 2 bode very well together.

Thanks for coming here and posting, and choosing this site. AD playing in Baltimore I'm obviously not to familiar in his play but looking forward to it. I haven't caught many Baltimore games on TV so can't wait to have him as a player and get to watch him play on a weekly basis. Good luck in the up coming season.
