Default Roughing the Passer to be point of emphasis

http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal..._of_empha.html

"One point of emphasis in 2007 will be that officials should not call roughing-the-passer penalties when the defender has his arms extended and makes minimal contact with the quarterback. Pereira’s feeling was that too many touch roughing-the-passer calls were made in 2006."

Fortunately they seem cognizant that roughing the passer has gotten too touchy.

Hey, can we have back that 15 yards on the bogus TBC roughing the QB call on the Colts winning drive??

The worst one called against us was when we played the Dolphins and Vince Wilfork fell and was laying stomach down on the ground when Joey Harrington walked forward and tripped over him. They called Wilfork for roughing the passer WTF???!!!

Wilfork should extend his arms while laying on the ground.

Thank God we didn't recover the fumble that would have been overturned

Yup, that was a new low. The ref clearly didn't see any of the action leading up to it, and just saw Harrington fall over.

I wish we did recover the fumble. Then everyone could bash the referee's heads off for an entire offseason.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.

I wonder if you'll be saying that if it's Brady.
