now that Saban had his shot and failed with the Miami Dolphins, partly at the hands of the New England Patriots.........there is the possibility that Saban could feel bitterness towards BB and the Pats. Note, I realize that it is only mere speculation.

If you didn't like my post, then why don't you post the obvious so that the rest of us don't have to make things clearer for everyone else. get your facts straight. And I agree with a previous poster, a lame attempt to get a draft thread going!

If one of these guys does get drafted it won't be because "Saban recommended him" or Belichick is trying to keep that pipeline going. Saban probably could care less if the Pats draft any of these senior players. Going back to your thread title, Saban won't have to coax anything out of Belichick. If one of these guys does get drafted, it will be because of the extensive work done by Piolichick and the rest of the front office and scouting dept.

And what happened after that? He went buh-bye. He was a one year wonder for the Pats.

Go back and look at the schedules and when Saban was there. Only 14 players he could have had input on until he got the the NFL. He got there in 2004. So, from his time at Michigan St. to his time at LSU. Which was 44 draft picks from 2000 to 2004. Saban wouldn't have given any information to BB for the 2005 and 2006 draft. So you can rule out any players from the SEC from those drafts. Which is a few.

Don't be shocked if Saban and BB meet sometime in the next month,Have a discussion of some of Nick's seniors heading to the NFL and we take one of them, maybe even two in the later rounds...I can see us picking at least one of them from 3rd to 6th rounds mainly guys like

Le'Ron McClain FB - Probably goes late 2nd,If hes there in the 3rd I think we should take a shot.

OLB Juwan Simpson or
OLB Terrence Jones - Heard some decent things about these guys, both might make a good 5th/6th round picks

CB Ramzee Robinson - In an area of need for us he might be of some value if still there in the 4th or 5th round

DE Chris Harris - Not sure about this player, maybe a 6th rounder

DT Jeremy Clark - Looks like a reach in making the pros but should be there in the 6th if we need another DT backup

Saban may not have coached these guys who are leaving before his first game as HC at Alabama but can I see him nudging BB a bit and would not be shocked if we did take a gamble on one or two of them.

With the exception of Le'ron McClain this might be the worst senior Alabama squad entering the draft that I have seen in a while but who knows if we draft and find a jewel among these 6 guys.
what McClain in 2nd 3rd? Hes a 5th rounder bud

We had a minimum wage undrafted LSU rookie CB cover the leagues best receiver halfway decently in the last Super Bowl. That is the definition of value.

If you think BB did not put a call into his pal Saban and have extensive discussions on the merits of both Welker and Morris, you severly underestimate the thoroughness of the man.

We also had an aging WR playing well back there too....ya think it may have something to do with pressure up front?
