Default Peter King just on the Fan590 (toronto sports radio)

Peter King was just on Toronto’s talk radio the Fan590, Boston’s EEI equivalent, and he talked about his recent article regarding the Patriots.
Here are a few things he touched upon:
- felt AD was the best defensive player available.
-Believes that Welker was an even bigger pick up than Stallworth. He feels Welker will turn into something special.
-He didn’t offer too much hype towards Stallworth because he feels the guy still has a lot to prove and has some past troubles.
-He talked about why the Patriots always seem to be winners and the class of the NFL. He mentioned that AD, Stallworth took significantly less to play with Brady and for Belichick. He also said that Welker is the happiest guy alive because all he wants to do is win. He also said that Welker took less to play here.
- Said that the lone additions of Welker and AD put the pats ahead of the colts and chargers.

Remains to be seen......we whooped it up when the Patriots signed David Terrell, anybody seem to remember that one? What about the Starks deal, we shouted hooray on that one too?

Let's take the wait and see approach.

Why was he talking about the Patriots while doing a spot in Toronto. Probably should have been talking about the Bills or Lions. Did the radio host ask him about the Pats specifically or was this an open ended question about who he feels improved the most so far. Is this the same Fan 590 that will be televised later today on Sportsnet?

I don't recall that we "whooped it up". Stallworth may have a great deal to prove in this league, but he's done a hell a lot more than David Terrell ever managed.

We certainly took Terrell with skepticism.

Look, I'm a skeptic by nature but when these guys change from paper additions to actual new talent on the field then it won't remain to be seen . . . it will be seen all the way to Arizona.

Welker Defenitley Benifited Financially.

I don't know what he's talking about, if the pats didn't trade for him, he wouldn't be making as much as he is now.

I wouldn't expect a bidding war for him but I don't think you can make your statement so definitively - there could have been teams offering more but Welker chose the Patriots. Just like with Franchised players, it takes two to tango in the RFA world so he had his pick of teams as long as that chosen team could get it worked out.

Its a national broadcast. He was asked who is winning the free agent signings. You want him to say the Bills or Lions are doing well?

I heard nothing about Welker taking less money. King said that he expected Welker to be the best WR signing. I am starting to think that Saban had something to do with this.

Peter King's on the show every Thursday talking about whatever's current in the NFL. The Pats have been the leading (football) story since free agency began.
