OT: Good for Jake Plummer
Not sure if any of you read the latests quotes from Plummer when he came out and pretty much flat-out stated he is retiring and it's not a ploy:
Quote:
Quarterback Jake Plummer has announced his retirement from the NFL.
"I wanted to come in and tell you guys on camera and face-to-face that the speculation can stop tonight," Plummer said. "You can know by the looking in my face and hearing my words that I am retiring from the NFL. At 32 years old, I'm running away from the game. Not in fear or fright, but health-wise. I'm healthy. I'm happy. I have a lot to look forward to in my life."

If he is indeed serious and this isn't a gambit to get out of his trade, kudos to him. Too many QBs (*cough*Bledsoe*cough*) will stick around and collect paychecks well after their skills have diminished.
And for a guy like Plummer, walking away from the game at 32, you clearly don't have the passion for it, so why keep at it? It's not like Favre who you know just wants to play. If you don't have the fire, leave. You have your millions, you still have your health, get out while the gettin's good.
Maybe Drew can learn from this prideless act of integrity.
Of course, Plummer could be just full of **** and wanting to get out of Tampa, and then I take back everything I said and simply applaud his business acumen.
