Default Moss and Gabriel - Two Birds Of A Feather?

IMO The reason Gabriel was kicked off the team last year was because the play where he fumbled the ball along the sidelines was where it pretty much ended his time here,I think when he went to the sidelines or maybe later in the locker room and there was something said to him by a member of the Patriots staff as to have included a discussion of a disiplinary type manner, maybe some type of tongue lashing as to why he did not secure the ball and I don't think he took it too well and probably mouthed off shortly afterwards and kept it going to a point where BB thought it would ruin team unity/chemistry and shortly afterwards kicked him off the club.

If you don't think it would happen the same way to Moss, don't bet against it.

I was listening to Jerry Porter today on Sirius Radio and Jerry was mouthing off against some of the coaching staff and their plays and also bad mouthing his offensive line for not keeping the QBs protected...He is another member of the Raiders WR whining threesome...Why would we want to take #2 of these 3 stooges in NE?...You guys are crazy for those who want him.

BB is an awesome coach but you can't change a can of tuna fish into caviar....Dillon was a different situation so forget comparisons there.

I have never heard word one from Gabriel about any of his previous coaches. He was given plenty of chacnes to mouth off about both the Raiders and the Pats and he never did it.

We may never know what happened with his short stint with the Patriots but what we do know is this...He was not kicked off the team for dropping/fumbling one pass....If that was the case we would have released Deion Branch in his rookie year.

Let me get this straight: You say you think Gabriel went to the sidelines, and you think maybe the Pats talked to him, and you think perhaps he didn't take well, and you think he might have mouthed off, and you think the Pats didn't take it well, and you think he kept it up until you think that BB might have gotten tired of it and you think that is why BB cut him.

And because you think this is what happened, you think Moss will behave the same way you think Gabriel did?

Weird as it might sound, I think I may agree with you.

Maybe something new will come to light from some other posters but I've come to the conclusion Gabriel was sent packing because he wasn't progressing in the offense.

This is pretty boring. I like Patriot64's ideas better. They are a lot more interesting. Try and think up something with a conspiracy involved.

Suit yourself:

Troy Brown, last we heard of him, was home in West Virginia, "deciding" on whether to retire or rejoin the Patriots as (currently) their fourth WR. That's baloney. It dosen't take that long to make that kind of life-altering decision. What Brown is likely doing is entertaining offers from the Saints (who courted him last year), the 49ers (who lost Bryant, and are making a push for the division), and the Jets, with the Jets being the most likely place he'll end up. The reasoning is simple. New York runs a similar system to New England, and needs help in both the WR corps and in the defense backfield. Eric Mangini has ties to Troy Brown and values him highly, and Chad Pennington is, like Brown, a Marshall alumni and probably wants a fellow Thundering Herder on his team. He's probably calling Brown up in West Virginia everyday, probably saying he's probably looking foward to Brown's probable signing with the New York Jets. The Jets already made the preliminary move for this signing when they grabbed Brian Daboll away from us, who was Brown's old position coach, and with whom Brown obviously has a close relationship. Mangini, Daboll, Pennington... Brown to the Jets just makes too much sense.

I don't think that really makes a diference, Stallworth is a FA if we got Moss it wouldnt be the end of the world for him to sign elsewhere. I think Stallworth may be being played against the Raiders because if we get Stallworth we could tell AL we are out of the running and the raiders lose a suitor could force the hand by Fri but we will see over the next few days.
