Default the beginning of the end??

Am I the only one who thinks that all this loading up and mega signing is to make one more run at the superbowl.....I would put money on the fact that if we win a superbowl this year or next year BB will retire and the end of the dynasty will have come.

If so Ill toast the dynasty with any one of youz guyz (gotta put the jersey touch on this thread)

(A) The Patriots don't make "runs" at Super Bowls. They consistently compete for championships.

(B) The Dyansty will not be over.

I'd say Belichick is here 5 or less years now until he's done. So yes, we are loading this team up for the next few years to win as many championships as possible.

We did the same thing after the 2002 season, and continued the dynasty. I think you've bought into all the rhetoric concerning the Pats after the Branch incident =) Just because we didn't sign any big FA the last few years doesn't mean that we think doing so is evil.

If the pats win the SB this year and BB retires, why would the dynasty end? I'm sure the Pats would replace BB from within, maybe one of his apprentices?

The pats are relatively young at key positions and have locked down a number of key players for years to come. I think losing BB is a loss, but you don't see him complete a pass, or make a tackle, its the players. We have a good group of guys here and I believe they can be competitive even without BB.

No-none of the guys we're signing are old. Look at our roster. Most guys are in their primes or are just getting there but yeah I don't want to cripple the cap for future years either

Thumbs down Re: the beginning of the end??

Overreact much? Its not like Belichick and Pioli are trading away future draft picks and signing any serviceable player to long-term, cap busting deals. They've just made a few bold moves that have greatly improved the team. Where is the harm in that?

As much as I would like to agree with Pats 1 and this FA is more due to Kraft being pissed off about the AFCCG than anything else, there is a sense that after this "run" of 2-3 more seasons with the "new" Pats, BB/SP/TB will all retire with 4-6 rings, a decade of dominance, one, perhaps two undefeated seasons, and the title of best dynasty of all time.

Oh, oh, what happens next????
