Default Kraft Family ignores Pats best interests

Did the Kraft family just surrender a 7th round draft pick so that they could look good in owners meetings?

Until now, I have always defended them against charges that they were cheap or that they wouldn't do whatever was necessary to help the Patriots win.

I feel betrayed. I hope that somebody comes up with an explanation of how this will help the team in the long run.

Kraft had absolutely NO say in what the team gave up in this deal.

If it helped us avoid using a poison pill, then perhaps it will prevent another team using one on us out of spite?

No. The 7th round draft pick means the Pats can sign Welker for millions less than what they would have to pay him under the poison pill plan.

Newsflash, Solman. The Patriots know what they are doing.

or could they have done it because they have an abundance of draft picks, and it will hopefully keep them from getting "poision pilled" out of spite?

What he said. Jeez louis, we are talking about a seventh round pick here.
WE have two first round picks.
We still have our own 3rd, 4th, and 2 / 6 round picks. That's 6 draft picks.
We are not even factoring in the compensation picks that we will get for Adam, Chatam, Givens, Dwight, and Ashworth.

Calm down brotha.

I totally agree!
I mean what has he done for the Pats besides purchase the team (saving it from going to LA), hire the best coach in football, and build a stadium with his own money?
