THOMAS DEAL COMING?
John Tomase of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots have struck a "preliminary deal" with free-agent linebacker Adalius Thomas.
But we sense a certain uneasy quality about the report, and it lacks the same unequivocal feel that most reports of player signings posses. If that makes any sense.
We're not saying it won't happen. But, for now, we're not completely convinced that it will.

Sooner, could you please let us know WHOM you are quoting? It would be much appreciated if you attributed. Your post means absolutely nothing without you informing us WHO is making that statement. I.E. "WE" could be Bill Polian for all we know. Thank you.

I know you're right....but the whole "uneasy" thing. That's an individual perception and an unnecessary one, IMO. Even the blurb admits it kind of doesn't make sense.

I wish this would become official so we can all breathe easier.

It's in the thread title. PFT stands for profootballtalk.com, commonly cited here as such. Sorry for the confusion.

If somehow this deal falls through after all of this hype and he takes a few more dollars to go to SF he will go from getting the key to the city to the most hated man in NE the quickest since A-Rod.

Just went on to the Herald website and Tomase is syaing its a deal in principle now. Supposedly the announcement will come later today/tonight.
