Default Final Cap Number for Pats in 2006

Trying to refute a buddy of mine that says that the Pats didn't spend up to the cap in 2006. Remember reading it somewhere and hearing it on local radio that they were something ridiculous like $0.75 under the cap but can't seem to find it on the web anywhere. Anyone know where I can find this info??

Thanks...

You are new to the board (Post #1!). Welcome to what I hope you will find an engaging and entertaining place to discuss the NFL's greatest franchise and team.

As for your question, let me be the first to introduce you to "Miguel's Salary Cap Page" (see link in red at the top). If you'll click on his 2006 link, you'll have your questioned answered.

Thanks for the info. Is there a link out there that confirms this?? This guy is a Jets fan and he's convinced that the Pats ended up being 20mill under the cap.

Just one of those things where I'd love to prove him wrong!!

In other words, I would create a page that would be off by $20 million. My numbers are off but not that much

There is a reason for my capfootnotes page.

Have your friend do a google search for adamjt13. I have to yet see an instance where he has provided a cap number and that information was later to be proven wrong.

If you don't mind me asking, is AdamJT13 in the media or is he more of an insider than that?

Clearly I must be missing something. Whenever I've gone to Miguel's Cap Page, I find every bit of cap information imaginable EXCEPT the current year's total and how much that is under the cap. For example, today I can find that info for 2008 but not for 2007. I see the page with each individual's 2007 cap number, but can't find where that column gets totaled up. Surely this legendary cap page can't be missing the most important cap stat of all (the Patriots' total for the current/nearest year), so could somebody please help me see what must be right under my nose?

Miguel cap page: According to my figures the Patriots' 2007 cap figure is $88,895,114 with 55 players signed or presumed tendered. The salary cap is $109 million. Therefore, if my calcuations are correct, the Pats are under the cap by around $19.5 million.
It is not totalled up in the chart format. It is above the chart about halfway down the text background material IN BOLD. It lands right around the first page bottom border on my display screen (so could be you scrolled right past with the mouse and missed it).

I think Miguel does not put as a total in the chart format because of all the variations in which player's hit counts toward cap and which not.

I have moved the total paragraph closer to the information about the players.
