Ask Tom Brady if Branch was a top 5 player. He said yes. He played amazingly in both his super bowls - in fact, holds a record for receptions in back to back Bowls and of course the MVP in the latter.

Precendents have been set with 2 players only: Brady and Seymour who both got renegotiated deals mid contract.

In terms of Warren, I love him and the 3 D-lineman could be as nasty as that Carolina line we faced in the second super bowl.

Tom Brady is not responsible for evaluating the talent on the squad and deciding where it is important. Thankfully, SP/BB are very good at that and Tom is very good at playing quarterback.

I expect they have already begun discussions with his agent. They did the same with Branch and Givens. Some choose to reup early, some do not.

Which type is Warren? Unlike Koppen, who is a good center, Warren may be among the best at his position. His agent will likely push to get to the open market.

I want to believe that he is one of the good guys, wants to retire a Patriot.. but on the other hand, it is about the cash. But I can live in my little world.

Addai would have the MVP title also if Manning didn't stop throwing to him. That doesn't make him an $8M a year player.
