Well said.

Faulk is the #2 all-patriot player on the team after Brown. He is Brady's protector and outlet on third down. He is one of our top receivers. He is one of the best 3rd down backs in the league (in any case, he is our best in decades). When we have a cap crunch and need 2007 cap money. I think we could re-visit this discussion (and that about the cap hists of Colvin and Dillon). We will again have trouble finding players to spend our cap money on. Faulk (Dillon and Colvin) are great places to spend cap money. We also have plenty to pay ALL our free agent, our rooks and still have enough for a couple of high profile free agents.

BOTTOM LINE
The challenge is to find valuable players on whom to spend cap money. Faulk is an easy qualifier.

I agree. If Faulk was released he would be scooped up in minutes, given a bigger contract. And you are right it's going to be a challenge to spend the money if the Pats are going to take the moderate approach and go after mid-level guys. Half the league has plenty of money to spend.

If Faulk had been healthy for four quarters two Sunday's ago, I guarantee we'd be playing today. There isn't a doubt in my mind about it.

Thumbs down Re: Will Kevin Faulk be back?

He's not a 3rd-down back. He's one of a very few team MVPs. Huge difference.

Definitely agree. He was one of many casualties in that game. Same with Dillon, he must have been injured, because clock killin was not there.

Yup. I think what hurts most about that game for me is the sense that we were about to steal a Super Bowl berth against all odds, all injuries, all sicknesses, all the media bullshyt & other adversity of the season etc., etc. It was like winning the lottery and then going to cash in only to find out you read the numbers wrong.

Bobby Grier made a good pick.

I would be very surprised if he were cut for financial reasons. The Pats have factored in his cap number and have enough room not to worry about him. As others have said, he brings something different to the team, especially on those passing downs.

Ya pretty much and the clock was the enemy at the end. It couldn't move fast enough, then when they needed time it wasn't there.

In short, no.

He won't be cut. Come on, man.
