At 100-1 odds, I'd put down a dollar on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. That'd be funny.

I'd never see that dollar again... but that's besides the point.

I have to say, the Bears are what they are... the best in the NFC. The Chargers lost their coaching staff, and the Colts lost a fi(Please be quiet - edited)l of contributers on the field. Meanwhile, the Pats got better... of course I am a homer, and I discount the possible departure of Asante Samuel, and the retirement of Corey Dillon, but to me, those are more than counterbalanced by the myriad moves that shore up the linebacker position, as well as the receiving corps and the Pats' special teams.

We'll see how it all gels on the field, of course... but to me, only the Chargers stayed competitive, and that's going by the assumption that their coaching wasn't that great to begin with, and they got where they got through raw talent.

One man's opinion (and a homer's at that.)

Not to worry. Even Colts fans are homers :P I like people thinking the Colts got worse. If losing Doss(non starter), Harper(injured most of playooffs), David (lost starting job twice while in Indy), June (Mr Cant tackle) means the end, so be it. We"ll see how it turns out.

That would be myriad move, (singular), so far. Unless you know something I don't.

well put (and well bolded), RayClay. My "as well as" should have been an "and" to clear up any confusion, and "myriad moves" was meant to apply to all three categories named.

In many vegas books, the Pats are down to 2 - 1.

Please do not put down money on these ridiculously bad odds. At some point before the season it may creep back up to a more reasonable 4 - 1 but historically speaking, even that is a very poor value.

If you have access to sports wagers regularly (Vegas, offshore, local), the better thing to do would simply take the Pats on the Moneyline for each of their 3 (or 4) post season games starting with how much you were going to wager on the SB future and roll it all over (base bet + winnings) each game. You'd definitely come out ahead versus 2 to 1 even if the Pats had a spectacular regular season.
