01/24/07 - Senior Bowl North Team Wednesday Practice Report: David Harris has helped himself this week by showing the strength as an interior run plugger and surprising fluidity to the outside. He shows good instincts in coverage, but lacks the top flight change of direction to remain stuck to receivers. Still, he was always in the right place at the right time and would likely lead the team in tackles through the first three days of practice if such statistics were kept.
David Harris could possibly be a Ted Johnson clone?????????

You know what. I was just at a forum that I accdentally found the other night at like 2 in the morning. I wouldnt have remembered this if it wasnt for you mentioning that name. Some guy who said he has close ties to a player for the Brown football team was saying that BB has been to several of Deossie's practices this past yr. and has been around him for quite some time. Now, I never put much into **** like that, but take it FWIW. Havent seen a video on him, but DAMMIT! If people keep talking about how much of a sleeper this guy is, then he'll no longer be a sleeper

I agree with you on that assessment, but do we really want to use a 2nd rd. on a two down one-dimensional player? Our run d is fine, IMO. But, we really need to get guys that can follow those TE's and meet those quick RB's on the outside before they slip past our containment. I just dont see Harris doing that.

I am not sure where you get your info from but Hawkins is not as slow as molasses. He was originally drafted and played CB. He was not a top speed cb so Peas tried him at SS. He certainly is not a burner, but he is not slow either. He is average for his speed.

FWIW, just for the sake of argument. Hawkins last timed 40 that I could find documented on the internet was 4.31. That is damn fast, but I can tell ya right now he doesn't play that fast. I still think he is a solid player for us.

Where did you find that? I looked, but couldn't find it. Not many players play as fast as there combine time. I will stand by what I said before and I believe you agree. Hawkins is not blazing and not slow. He has average speed of a cb.
