A classic reasoning error is when you believe that something must be true, therefore it is true.
Schefter wants to make it appear as if there's a coaching bonanza in the works for 2008, so he's implying that because Belichick might be able to void his contract, he will do so.
Of course, that begs a simple question-- what possible logic could there be in his going elsewhere? Until someone can give me a plausible answer to this, I'll take Schefter's column with a truckload of salt.
