I wonder if you may be confusing cause with effect here...

Quarterbacks tend to take more sacks when playing from behind because they need to pass more, and the defense knows it. So it might be more accurate to say that Pennington is more likely to have been sacked 3 times in games that they lost.

I agree. Offensive line play will figure huge in the outcome of this game. Brady and his "five layers of protection" need to do better this time around in setting their protection schemes. In the running game, the guys on the line need to pick up run-blitzers better. The Jets were shooting Kerry Rhodes and others into gaps vacated by pulling or down-blocking linemen, and getting guys into our backfield before the play could develope.

You could counter this by running with a FB or H-Back more, but really, with proper recognition by interior linemen, we should be able to run successfully without changing our game.

Battle of the trenches, IMO. Pats need to win those battles and the rest will fall in line

Take care of the football, basically.

For the most part I think Pennington is going to go for the short stuff so it's imperative that we make our tackles on first contact. However I won't be surprised if they try to take some shots down field early on and try to take the crowd out the game.

And I'm sure both teams have some tricks up their sleeves that they going to use on eachother today? Let's just hope the Pats are on their toes.
the keys? just dont turn the ball over, and we win.

I think NEM has the key on the offensive game plan, although Brady's little press-conference smirk may hint a secret pass-happy, spread-em-out plan. Hopefully, it will be 3 and 4 (not 5)-wide sets with a single back to run at the correspondingly thinned out D and help with blitz pickup.

On D, I wouldn't be suprised to see BB deal with the no huddle by starting in the nickel 3-3 with TBC spelling Vrabel and Colvin outside and relying on Scott's greater speed in coverage than the ILBs. I think that sets a nice matchup for mixingn 3 to 5-man rushes, while still having enough meat in the box to handle the Jets inside running game and improving speed to handle Leon Washington trying to get outside.

No turnovers. Run Dillon and Maroney early and often. Protect Brady. Stuff Pennington. And, NO TURNOVERS.

No turnovers, play physical, wih the LOS, beat the man in front of you, no stupid penalties, EXECUTE what's called and you win the game.
